COVID-19 - SHOP RESTRICTED OPENING

Following the Prime Minister's announcement last night in which he stated non-essential businesses and premises must now close, further information regarding bicycle shops has now been published. Bicycle shops are considered an exception to the measures and can remain open for business.  The official reasoning for this is that bicycle repair shops must remain open, with a particular focus upon continuity of transport for essential workers.  The advice also mentions the need to support all cycling commuters who may otherwise be forced to rely on public transport.

After careful consideration we have decided that for the time being we will remain open but with a significantly reduced service.  Priority will be given at all times to any key worker identified within any official government guidance.

 

With immediate effect we will be operating as follows:

 

Shop Opening Hours - open daily between 2pm and 5pm.  Closed on Wednesdays & Sundays. We will have one member of staff in the shop between these times. Visit by appointment only, please call in advance and we will allocate you a slot as soon as practical.  The shop door will be locked and only those with an appointment allowed to enter.  If you have an appointment and need to wait outside please do so in a responsible manner.  Please do not enter the workshop area under any circumstances.

 

Collection & Delivery Service -  we will continue to operate our free collection and delivery service during this time using our own dedicated van.  The van will only be driven by one of our owners, Phil, who will ensure that hygiene is maintained between each delivery and / or collection.  We would strongly urge all our customers to use the delivery and collection service wherever possible.  There is no minimum order value.

 

Sale of Soft Goods & Accessories - Sale of these items will be strictly controlled.  Individuals will not be permitted to open packaging or try items on in store.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept returns under any circumstances during this period.

 

Sale of Bikes and larger items -  Our suppliers have good stocks of most products and are continuing to meet both existing and new orders.  Please call and discuss your needs in advance, in most cases we should be able to provide good buying advice remotely to ensure you buy the correct size. We have suspended our bike fitting service during this time but all customers purchasing a new bike will be entitled to the normal complimentary bike fit service as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

 

Bike Servicing & Repairs - We are operating with one mechanic and giving priority to Key Workers.  Other work will be accepted and we will endeavour to complete it in a timely manner but please understand our need to prioritise Key Workers at this time.  Our suppliers have indicated that stocks of spare parts remain good and deliveries will continue although there may be some unavoidable delays.  

Bike Fitting - due to the nature of the bike fitting service we have regrettably had to suspend this for the foreseeable future.

 

We would like to thank all our customers for their support and understanding during this difficult time.  We are trying to adapt to an ever changing situation in a socially responsible way and hopefully you will be supportive of our approach at this very difficult time.
